Andreas-roland theodorou trombone
Born in Corfu he took his first trombone lessons at the age of 7 from his father Michael Theodorou. He continued his studies at the Corfu Music School and later at the Corfu Conservatory with Stamatis Critikos and Spyros Farougias, where he received his diploma with distinction.
In 2000 he received the 2nd prize at the Panhellenic Wind Music Competition in Thessaloniki.
A member of the European Youth Orchestra in the years 1999,2000 and 2006 he participated in masterclasses with John Marcellus, Ingemar Roos, Scott Hartman, Jonas Bylund, Ian Bousfield, Otmar Ginkswinkler, Michel Becquet, Jorgen van Rijen, Enrique Crespo and chamber music labs with Vincent di Martino, Roger Bobo, and the Brass Brothers.
He performed as a soloist with the Mantzaros Philharmonic Society, the Larissa Philharmonic and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra.
Until 2004 he was a member of the orchestra of the Greek National Opera and since 2004 he is a permanent member of the Athens State Orchestra.
A keen performer of contemporary music he is the principal trombonist of Ergon Ensemble.
